BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN

NANOTECHNOLOGY AND LIVING SYSTEMS

Welcome to the Laboratory for nanotechnology in the Faculty of Health, School of Medicine at Deakin University, Australia.

The Lab is active in a number of research and teaching activities at the interface of nanotechnology and cellular engineering with a specific focus on understanding how to inject bioactive and genetic materials into cell interiors with much greater precision, but without damaging the cells’ intricate structure.

OUR TEAM

The team is at the forefront of generating new knowledge in the emerging nanoinjection technology—including opening new ways of manipulating cells outside the body—via fundamental advances in nanoscale manufacturing and understanding how to inject diverse bioactive cargoes into targeted cell interiors with much greater precision. To achieve this our highly interdisciplinary team unites researchers from biology, chemistry, biophysics, and engineering, all committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in nanotechnology.
